Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny
When was the last time you heard any woman say "I went bathing suit shopping and it was an awesome experience!" Well guess what...I went bathing suit shopping and it was an awesome experience." Truth.
Melmira Bra and Swimsuit Boutique on Yonge St. in Toronto offers an amazing custom fitting service for lingerie and swimwear. From the moment I stepped in the North Toronto boutique I felt welcome and knew I was in for a great experience. I was greeted by Leah (one of the owners) who showed me to a fitting room and did a super quick 'size me up.' Leah knew exactly what she was doing. I told her what types of bikini's I like...not too skimpy, decent booty coverage, not too structured or padded up top. We were off to a great start when Leah returned from 'the back' where all the goodies are kept. No racks of endless swimsuits to rummage through in this boutique. They bring the goods to you...specifically chosen for you. I felt completely at ease with Leah and I could be totally honest with her on whether I liked her selections or not. I was honest about the parts of my body I liked and didn't like so much. She was reassuring and brought me suits that made me feel comfortable. I think I tried on a dozen or so and could have easily walked out with half of them. I'll be very honest with you, these are not budget suits. The designers Melmira carries are the likes of Shan, SeaFolly, Jets, and Vitamin A amongst other designer brands. I haven't invested in awesome swimsuits in several years, so I felt pretty comfortable about it. Yes, I said swimsuits plural. I bought three!
I was in love with this pretty pink Shan bikini the second Leah stepped in the room with it. It's so feminine and gorgeous. Thank goodness it fit perfectly.
Leah paired the sporty, super cute Jets Vibration High Neck with Shan Adele bikini bottom. This is an essential black bikin bottom and can easily be paired with any top. I love to mix my tops and bottoms. I was hesitant about this style at first...but after trying it on I couldn't resist. These high neck tops are deceptively sexy.
I also picked the lovely blue Sea Folly bikini in the first photo above. I fall in and out of love with Sea Folly depending on the season. This is a very good season!
Make sure you call or head over to the Melmira website to make an appointment before going, and then be prepared to be overwhelmed by the amazing customer service. I'm quite sure I'll never look elsewhere for my swim wear (or lingerie).
