I wear suits to work all week and I am looking for a casual but fun weekend outfit. I hope that it can take me from the grocery store to the arena. I’m usually decked out in a pair of sweats and an oversized hoody. I think this look is wearing thin; can you help with an alternative that doesn’t look like I just got out of bed?
Weekend Wardrobe Challenged.
Please, please leave your sweats at home, especially if they are of the Roots salt & pepper variety. Teenagers across Canada are currently sporting them. Although they look great in these, you, not so much. I have come up with a couple of super cute options for you - both include fun, ripped, jeans. I have to admit that I was late to this trend, but I’m embracing it now. In fact, my favourite pair became “too ripped” due to excessive bending over to reach into the washer and dryer. Yes, ripped jeans can become ‘too ripped’ to look appropriate when you’re not a teen anymore.
I’ve picked a couple of cute outfits that I think will make anyone feel cozy yet fashionable on the weekend. Fisherman’s sweaters are casual yet really anchor a Fall outfit well. They look great under a not too puffy vest, think quilted rather that puffy. Pop some super hot Adidas tennis shoes on and you’re good to go. Actually, on my recent N.Y trip I spotted supermodel Karlie Kloss wearing her Adidas tennis shoes with a sleek black turtleneck dress.
If you prefer a lighter knit sweater, go for a gray cowl paired with a slim black jacket and Uggs. Make sure your Uggs are clean and not salt stained from last season. I love the Classic Cardy Uggs. They’re like a sweater for your feet!
Invest in a few good sweaters to match with jeans and you should be good to go. Although, keep those cozy sweats close by for Netflix nights.
